How to Prepare
-
The hair must be at least ¼ of an inch long or have 3 weeks outgrowth to be removed successfully.
-
The first time wax appointment is the most painful, by the second wax it will be much easier. We highly recommend our numbing cream (Relax & Wax)
-
Getting a brazilian? You should trim all thick areas down to ¼ of an inch.
-
Please, no sun bathing 48 hrs prior to hair removal.
-
Come to your appointment freshly showered and clean of ALL oils and lotions.
-
Loofah or gently exfoliate your skin prior to your appointment.
-
Wear loose clothing.
Pain factor and things to reduce the sting:
-
Take over the counter Pain Killer (caution: some medications are blood thinners increasing chance of bruising during service, use non-blood thinning products. ask your doctor for advice on which one to choose. )
-
The first wax or sugar is the most painful, by the second wax it will be much easier. The third and fourth wax it will be even better, you will then start to have roughly the same discomfort each time. The hair follicle is not as deep in the skin and has a barely any blood supply if you come every 2-3 weeks to start.
*** If you have a low pain tolerance, we highly recommend our numbing cream (Relax & Wax) be applied to any sensitive areas: (face, eyebrows, brazilian, etc.) You must come in ahead of time to purchase the cream it must be applied 45 minutes prior to waxing and washed with soap right before your appointment.
-
Clients can take an antacid or antihistamine, 10-20 minutes prior to hair removal. An antacid can reduce the acid in your system thus reducing sensitivity. An antihistamine can help prevent swelling due to inflammation in the body.
-
Ideally, clients should have little or no caffeine in their systems. Caffeine heightens sensitivity.
-
Waxing during your menstrual cycle is not recommended. During your cycle your body is more sensitive due to hormonal changes, thus causing the treatment to be more painful.
After your Wax/ Sugar & Maintenance
-
Clothing wear loose clothing for bikini’s & brazilian’s and other large waxed area, friction equals in-growns and irritation. NO skinny jeans, leggings or tights ladies.
-
Be Gentle the first 24-48 hrs! When you get home shower and use our Lipid Replacing Cleansing Gel or Vitamin Veil Facial Cleansing OIl or a very gentle/neutral facial cleanser to clean the area, harsh soaps or scrubs can cause hives, breakouts & in-growns do not over stimulate the skin. Moisturize the area with our Finipil to sooth and heal the first few days.
-
Exfoliate 24 to 48 hrs after treatment to prevent the build up of dead skin cells which can cause ingrown hair. We recommend our Sugar scrub or dew puff or Scrub Gloves.
-
Healing the waxed ares will need to heal for 24-48 hrs. You may see redness similar to a light sunburn, red speckling where the hair root was removed, and very rarely hives. The skin is slightly more tender than usual to the touch. If you have been waxing for a long time or have remarkable skin you will have zero healing it may only take a few hours.
-
Avoid scented lotions and perfumes, as well as all Alpha Hydroxy products for 48 hours. Treat your skin like it has a minor sunburn think aloe gel, or our Finipil.
-
Use After Care your recommended products to prevent ingrown hairs will save you from unsightly scaring.
- Soak: Dead Sea Salt soak for first 24-48 start with a shower then fill sink with cold water use 2-4 tablespoons salt get clean towel soak up the salt solution apply cold compress to area.
- Exfoliate: Sugar scrub or dew puff or Scrub Gloves in the shower.
- Moisturize: Smooth Waxing Balm 2-7 times per week this will exfoliate and soften the skin so the hair can reach the surface and continue use of Finipil.
-
NO HOT showers, baths, hot tubs, sun exposure for the first 24 hours. Again think minor burn your follicles are healing each one needs to close up.
